A couple of things he should do.... first - check your filter replace if dirty, clean your hose and mask to make sure nothing has grown on them... second - use a saline nasal spray to get everything moist ... finally - definitely get a humidifier for his machine. Be sure to use distilled water in the humidifier (this keeps minerals from building up in the hose). It sounds like he is getting rather dry during the night. Some of the machines have a humidifier on them (hers does). He may want to check and see if possibly his has one and he didn't realize it or if there is an attachment he can get that will put some moisture in. Good luck. My wife uses a CPAP as well. You talk about the force of air being blown into his mouth. I wonder if the machine needs adjusting. The clinic adjusted mine, it went wrong, the airflow was so fast I couldn't use it. They had to give me a new machine, as they couldn't do an emergency repair. I would suggest your husband contacts the sleep clinic which supplied him with the machine.
